- Abstract
The article offers information on a randomized clinical research related to use of drainage in the postoperative period of thyroidectomy. As mentioned, routine drainage causes prolong stay in hospital, discomfort to the patients and more proneness to infections and postoperative complications. As stated, thyroidectomy without drains is more effective and shows reduced complication rates in the patients.
