The article focuses on a study conducted by the authors on the importance of close friendship and social support for college students in preventing suicide. Topics discussed include tendency of losing hope in college students, negative correlations between avoidance anxiety and reasons for living; and reason for living predicted by reliance on parents and attachment avoidance.
