- Abstract
The article describes the case of two captive Bennett's wallabies diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The two female wallabies, housed in an exotic farm in north-central Oklahoma, died a sudden death and were subjected to diagnostic necropsy at the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. Necropsy results show that one was moderately obese while the other had a mildly enlarged heart. Genetic and environmental factors are cited as the possible causes of the development of HCM in the affected animals.
