- Title
THE INSTITUTE FOR JEWISH POLICY PLANNING AND RESEARCH.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the Institute for Jewish Policy Planning and Research, which was established by the Synagogue Council of America in 1972 to bring the scholarship and expertise of the Jewish academic community to deal with the public and communal policy issues that face the American Jews. The Institute has decided not to represent a new organization since it serves and is controlled by the Synagogue Council, its parent group. It was accepted as a useful service agency for the Jewish community. The Institute's major research projects include a study of Jewish marriage and family patterns, a study of the impact of the university experience on Jewish college students and faculty, and two related studies on the impact of community change on the synagogue and other communal institutions.
