- Authors
Huscher, Betty H.; Huscher, Harold A.
- Abstract
The article presents a discussion of Native American archeological sites in Colorado. Circular stone houses known as hogans are the main topic, and detailed descriptions are provided of these. Their locations, construction and the results of archeological investigations into the cultures which built them are provided. It is said that the Navajo branch of Athapascan people were responsible for constructing these stone hogans. Some outlines of Navajo history are presented, dealing with their differentiation from other Athapascan groups, such as the Apaches, and their trade with the Pueblo peoples.
