The article explores the history of Jamaican foreign policy under the government led by prime minister Michael Manley. Emphasis is given to the policy of non-alignment and the Non-Aligned Movement of nations during the Cold War. Other topics include the early history of the People's National Party, the moral aspects of diplomacy, and economic development in Africa.
