In this article, the authors discuss the study conducted by Nicolas Joly and colleagues on the efficacy of optical fiber in frequency conversion from infrared to ultraviolet. They state that photonic crystal fibre (PCF) is capable of converting frequency from near-infrared (NIR) to deep-ultraviolet (DUV). Moreover, they mention that the new source of DUV light is applicable to spectroscopy, medicine, and lithography.
