- Abstract
The article examines the interpretation of U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding the provisions of the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA). A technical background of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and voice over Internet protocols (VoIP) is provided. Key information about the objectives of the CALEA is further presented.
