- Abstract
This letter published in the Annals of Hematology discusses the impact of paraskeletal plasmacytoma on the survival of patients with transplant-ineligible newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (TI-NDMM). The authors conducted a retrospective study involving 181 TI-NDMM patients and found that plasmacytoma, specifically paraskeletal plasmacytoma, was associated with worse progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in both high-risk and standard-risk groups. The study contributes to the existing literature on the relationship between plasmacytoma and survival outcomes in multiple myeloma patients. It suggests that plasmacytoma is a risk factor for poor outcomes in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients.
