- Abstract
The article offers information on the historical decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Gideon v. Wainwright regarding the incorporation of the right to counsel jurisprudence under the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It analyzes the decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court in Padilla v. Kentucky, Missouri v. Frye and Lafler v. Cooper concerning the right to effective assistance of counsel in the plea-bargaining cases.
