- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the misconception of people in wearing surgical masks which are thought to protect against infection in community setting. Surgical masks are noted to be inefficient in preventing virus transmission and are not designed to protect the wearer from respiratory hazards exposure. The use of masks by well individuals has not been recommended by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) during pandemic situations due to its ineffectiveness.
