Community outcry saves ICU.
- Abstract
The article discusses the cancellation of the plan to reduce nurse numbers in the intensive care unit of Bathurst Base Hospital in New South Wales after a public outcry. It offers the explanation of New South Wales Nurses and Midwives' Association (NSWNMA) branch delegate Lyn Sloane on why cut backs on nurses would be dangerous to the patients, to other hospital departments, and to community. Sloane also urges Bathurst Member of Parliament (MP) Paul Toole to take a stand and lead the campaign. INSET: MP urged to take a stand.
