- Abstract
This article discusses the maternal and fetal complications associated with eclampsia during pregnancy. Eclampsia is a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality in developing countries and a major cause of maternal morbidity in developed countries. The study was conducted in Tamil Nadu, India and included 100 cases of eclampsia. The results show various complications associated with eclampsia, including placental abruption, acute renal failure, and preterm birth. The study finds that inadequate care provided to pregnant women is a major contributor to poor outcomes. The authors emphasize the importance of early detection and referral to prevent and treat eclampsia effectively.
