- Authors
Schreiber, Annia; Gosselink, Rik
- Abstract
The authors discuss a study which showed that six weeks of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) at moderate intensity improves the dyspnea domain of the Chronic Respiratory Disease Questionnaire, inspiratory muscle strength, and endurance in comparison with a sham training group. Topics include relationship between respiratory muscle function/activation and dyspnea, analysis of a maximal incremental ramp exercise test, and most advisable approach to prevent further muscle deconditioning.
