- Authors
Bohlander, Michael
- Abstract
This article discusses the recent decision of the British Court of Appeal in the case, R v Bieber. In the case, the appellant has been convicted of one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and two counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life. He was sentence to life imprisonment with an order that the early provisions should not apply. The author sees the decision as an expression of a different attitude to punishment in Great Britain than that prevalent on the Continent.
