- Abstract
This article presents a reply to Stanislavsky's speech by Polish dramatic theorist and director Jerzy Grotowski, given at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City on February 22, 1969, discussing the relevance of Constantin Stanislavsky on later 20th century avant-garde theater. Additional topics mentioned include the separation of aesthetics from technique, Grotowski's own use of the Method, and the need for laboratory work in acting.
