- Title
'In the sight of all': Queen Elizabeth and the Dance of Diplomacy.
- Authors
Mirabella, Bella
- Abstract
The article focuses on Elizabeth and her dancing in the early modern period to provide an understanding of the particular strategies used by her in manipulating dance for political and diplomatic gain. The author contends that the role of Elizabeth as queen was exploited by her with the use of her persona, her performative abilities, and her dancing as part of her political apparatus, as well as suggests that part of her general strategy is making her persona the centre of any discourse.
