The article discusses the involvement of social workers in the need to care for the mental health of hospital workers following mass casualty events. Topics include the roles of medical social workers and employee assistance program (EAP) social workers, psychological trauma and burnout experienced by hospital staff after a mass casualty event, and the need for interpersonal connections among hospital workers.
