- Abstract
The article discusses the use of electronic readers, or e-readers, and electronic books, or e-books, among teenagers, and how youth librarians can serve teen interest in e-books. The author gives the examples of teenagers such as Natasha, Emily, and Caitie who used e-readers such as the Nook Tablet, Amazon Kindle, and E Ink devices, and discusses their opinions on print versus digital books, use of e-readers for browsing the Internet, and comparison of display screens. The privacy issues regarding shared family digital libraries is mentioned, as well as the increase of romance and erotic literature reading among women due to e-readers.
