- Title
Alternative Interdental Aids for Enhanced Patient Compliance.
- Authors
Jahn, Carol A.
- Abstract
Interdental cleaning is essential for optimal oral health, yet most dental patients are ineffective at using conventional floss and practitioners often struggle with getting patients to comply with their instruction. Rather than recommend flossing to every patient in every situation, practitioners may consider alternative interdental aids to assist their patients in achieving effective interdental hygiene. The aim of this article is to provide the dental team with the basic knowledge and skill set required to elicit effective behavior change in patients, particularly in the area of interdental cleaning.
