- Abstract
To investigate the effects of yellow mealworm excrement fermentation with bacillus subtilis, EM agent, entomogenous fungi, Trichoderma harziana NF9 strain, and without strain on aged tomato seed germination, in this study, taking Zhongnong Changfeng as the experimental material, the effects of different insect excrement fermentation extracts at different volume concentration on tomato germination rate, germination index, vigor index, root length, and whole plant fresh weight were studied by the method on petri dish paper. The results showed that the extract of the fermentation of insect excrement with EM agent had the most obvious function to promote the germination of tomato seeds. The germination potential, germination index, whole plant fresh weight, and radicle length of tomato were the highest at 4%, they were 50.00%, 10.73, 0.06 g, and 5.70 cm, respectively, which were 233.33%, 126.85%, 90.32%, and 39.02% higher than those of the control (distilled water treatment). The germination rate, vigor index, and germ length were the highest at 6%, they were 70.00%, 73.64, and 7.00 cm, respectively. Among them, the germination potential, germination index, vigor index, whole plant fresh weight, and germ length of tomato were 141.90%, 67.39%, 135.42%, 22.92% and 20.07% higher than those of other insect excrement extracts. The addition of bacillus subtilis, entomogenous fungi, T. harzianum NF9 strain of insect excrement fermentation extract and yellow mealworm manure natural fermentation extract also promoted tomato seed germination. Therefore, different extracts of insect excrement fermentation could promote the germination of tomato seeds in a certain range, in which the yellow mealworm excrement fermentation extract with EM agent at 4% of volume concentration possessed the most obvious function to promote tomato seed germination.
