- Abstract
The article reports on cases of acute respiratory distress syndrome in persons with tickborne relapsing fever in the U.S. from 2004 to 2005. The first case was reported in Nevada on February 17, 2005. A 46-year-old woman from Washoe County, Nevada had onset of nonspecific leg pain which progressed to generalized myalgia. Another case was reported in California on April 12, 2005. A 43-year-old woman had onset of lethargy and myalgia. A third case involved a 40-year-old woman who presented with myalgia, arthralgia, nausea, vomiting and headache.
