- Abstract
This article discusses the current treatment strategy for bladder cancer, which involves initial transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) to diagnose muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). If MIBC is diagnosed, various procedures such as chemotherapy or surgery are performed, while non-muscle-invasive cancer (NMIBC) is treated differently. The article also introduces VI-RADS, a standardized MRI diagnostic method for MIBC, and highlights the limitations of this method. The authors present a study that aims to create a differential model between MIBC and NMIBC by investigating various morphological features and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values. They propose a nomogram combining these variables to improve the accuracy of MIBC diagnosis. The study's findings suggest that tumor size, width of the stalk, and dome morphology of the stalk are independent risk factors for MIBC. The authors acknowledge the need for further validation of their model using a larger sample size.
