- Abstract
This article proposes an analysis of the evolution of learning environments, moving from a traditional perspective centered on teacher dominance to the current approach of democratization, where various scenarios are configured as rich and diversified learning environments. Particularly noteworthy is the significant role of online learning environments, commonly referred to as EAD, whose usage has experienced a notable increase, especially after the coronavirus pandemic. The central objective of this research is to explore the relevance of motivation as a determining factor in the success of online learning environments. To achieve this purpose, the adopted methodology will be a literature review, examining reliable and relevant sources to identify possible creative strategies that promote student engagement and, consequently, boost motivation in this specific context. In the realm of online learning environments, individuals have the flexibility to carry out their learning activities according to their own time, pace, and location, following a previously planned and transparently intentional educational design. In this context, the educator plays a crucial role, acting as a facilitator and encouraging students to explore curiosity and discover knowledge through their own inquiries.
