- Authors
Cazem, Mark
- Abstract
Drawing from family archives and interviews, Mark Cazem recounts the colorful stories of his father, Ponce Cazem, from being a chauffeur/houseboy for celebrities during the Golden Age of Hollywood in the 1930s to becoming Staff Sergeant Ponce Cazem in the 1st Filipino Infantry Regiment and 1st Battalion, Company B of the United States during World War II. Despite hardships and racism, his father found community and support in unlikely places and eventually married Jovita, a Filipina warbride, and settled in California.
