- Authors

- Abstract
The article explores opportunities for improving risk communication about noninvasive prenatal tests (NIPT) for having a child affected by Down syndrome to help pregnant women make informed decisions about their pregnancy. The suggested strategies discussed include discouraging the use of the 1-in-X format, use of the same denominator such as number of babies tested when comparing ratios, use of visual aids to explain possible test outcomes, and discussing test failure as an outcome.
