- Abstract
New human displacements bring population reformulations. Black women participate in the process by moving from their countries of origin in search of a better future. In this context, this article aimed to know the reasons that brought the group to São Paul, Brazil. This was a descriptive, quantitative-qualitative, cross-sectional study, where 33 immigrant black women were interviewed. A script was prepared for the socio-demographic characterization and questions about the reasons for coming and the local receptivity. Data were analyzed from the Collective Subject Discourse. The reports showed that economic issues (21.3%), wars (15.3%) and violence (12.0%) leveraged the group's arrival. As for receptivity, the narratives highlight discrimination due to racism (45.5%) while 42% feel welcomed. The speeches indicated the need to organize an agenda for the reception and inclusion of specific migratory groups. It is noteworthy that the presence of the immigrant reconfigures and contributes to the development of society.
