- Abstract
In order to explore the micro texture that is more conducive to improving the performance of the automobile engine piston ring/liner friction pair, an elliptical opening offset parabolic micro texture was designed in an engine piston ring/cylinder liner friction pair. The CCD experimental design and response surface optimization theory were comprehensively used to study the influence of the micro texture characteristic parameters on the friction coefficient and bearing pressure of piston ring/cylinder liner friction pair by CFD method. The corresponding mathematical model was established, and the whale optimization algorithm was used to carry out multi-objective optimization design of micro texture parameters. The results show that the effect of micro texture parameters on the friction coefficient of piston ring/cylinder liner friction pair is in the order of density, long shaft, depth, offset, and short axle, and the effect of micro texture parameters on the bearing pressure is in the order of density, depth, offset, long shaft, and short shaft. The established mathematical model has sufficient precision and can be used to accurately predict the correlation properties of friction pairs according to the characteristic parameters of micro-texture. The optimal parameters for micro texture obtained are the major semi-axis of the ellipse 390 μm, the minor semi-axis 108 μm, the offset 139 μm, the depth 42 μm, and texture density 0.69.Compared with the untextured friction pair, the bearing pressure of the textured friction pairs is increased by 2.67% and the friction coefficient is decreased by 32.1%.
