The author discusses research which examined the language policy for international students that work as teaching assistants (TA) at the University of Minnesota. Topics explored include the collection and analysis of data regarding the evolution and implementation of said language policy, the evaluation of the oral English language proficiency of foreign TA, and the application of the language proficiency requirements to both undergraduate and graduate foreign students.
