- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the appearance of pin perforations in cementum and enamel of incisors, canines, premolars, and molars using electron microscope scanner. It notes the utilization of self threading pins in restorative dentistry to enhance core buildups and the retention of amalgam restorations. The quantitative results of the study notes the higher amount of fracture sustained in the enamel surface than to the cementum surfaces. It also notes the importance of repairing the perforation sites to avoid the imminent decay.
