- Abstract
The article examines the relationship between local foods and aspects of globalization in the works of Chi Li, considered as one of the most popular contemporary writers in China. It explores Chi Li's deeper insight on seasonal and homemade foods and the culture of Wuhan in his novellas including "To and Fro" "Cold or Hot," and "Being Alive Is Good." Also cited are Chi Li's preference for a traditional way of life and for modernized future of Wuhan as well as her ecological inclination.
