- Abstract
The article provides information on seasonal thermal energy storage (STES). It states that STES enables a building to use the heat collected during summer to warm up the building in winter or the snow collected in winter to cool the building on summer. It cites that STES systems consists of several components and has several types which include the Aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES) and borehole thermal energy storage (BTES). Discussions on the energy saving potential and market factors such as cost of STES are also offered.
