- Abstract
The production of affordable YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) coated conductors (CC), for industrial applications, is an extremely challenging issue. Great effort is being devoted to finding simple multilayer architectures, which simultaneously satisfy the following conditions: present an effective oxidation protection for the metallic substrate, an effective chemical barrier to cation diffusion, and a good lattice matching with the substrate and superconducting layer. In this work we report the study of chemical solution deposited (CSD) YBa2Cu3O7-δ nanocomposite thin films, with diluted Ba2YTaO6 (BYTO) and BaZrO3 (BZO) impurity nanoparticles. Films were deposited on YSZ monocrystalline substrates, with a buffer layer of Cerium Zirconium Oxide (CZO), also grown by chemical method. We studied the influence of the buffer layer on superconducting properties of the films, with a secondary phase content of 10%. Films were grown with a temperature treatment consisting on a single step at 770°C. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, and Tc and Jc were inductively measured with a SQUID. In all X-rays diffraction patterns, presence of BaCeO3 was observed. It is known that this compound generates reactivity with YBCO, which probably caused the low Jc obtained ~ 1.3 MA/cm2 at 77K.
