- Abstract
The present article intends to face the ethnocidal tendencies of the Brazilian state that generate obstacles to the social reproduction of the oral knowledge of the traditional communities in Brazil, from the development of the concept of Syndrome of Simão Bacamarte to identify this state attitude making it verifiable and visible, the from the analysis of case n° 0004747- 33.2014.4.02.5101, which ran in the 17th Court – Federal Justice – RJ of the Federal Public Ministry against Google asking for the removal of 17 videos of the universal church of God that treated in a prejudiced way the religions of African origin in 2014. And the decision to deny an interpreter to the Kaiowas witnesses in the federal justice process of São Paulo- n° 2003.60.02.000374-2 that deals with the murder of Marco Veron are examples of a state act resulting from the “syndrome of Simão Bacamarte” that is due to the belief in values inherent to scientism of the 19th century and that can lead to ethnocentric attitudes of public administration g erasing cultural conflicts and reducing access to citizenship.
