- Abstract
An editorial is presented which discusses the first descriptions of neuropathological and clinical features of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) by French neurologist Désiré-Magloire Bourneville. Topics include the contribution of Bourneville in the history of neuropathology, the origin of the focal clonic seizures in TSC, and the differences between meningoencephalitis of general paralysis and cerebral findings typical of multiple sclerosis.
