- Abstract
The article describes and evaluates a three-lesson learning progression developed for Year 6 students that incorporates triangular numbers to develop children's algebraic thinking. It discusses how Triangular numbers provide many wonderful contexts for mathematical thinking and problem solving. It explores how triangular number problems easy to present in a physically and visually engaging way that supports children to find generalisations.
