- Abstract
The article reports on Stan Meiburg, an executive at the United States Environmental Protection Agency. According to the author, Meiburg has overcome a critical barrier to the largest mixed land-use project in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia using his specialized knowledge of environmental rules and entrepreneurial management style. The article discusses the problems created by the land owned by Atlanta Steel, which had become an eyesore in the 1990s. In this case, Meiburg focused on air quality regulations and persuaded federal, state transportation and environmental agencies to think of the project as a transportation control measure.
