- Abstract
The article reports on the launch of the Selene unmanned lunar orbiter, called Kaguya, in Japan on September 14, 2007. It cites that the orbiter entered orbit on October 3 and has returned more than six million laser altimeter height measurements by April 2008. It adds that 10m/pixel stereo images of the surface as well as 20m/pixel global color waveband imagery has been captured by the orbiter. However, it was impacted onto a region on the nearside south east limb on June 10.
