- Abstract
This article is about the interspecific DIY hacking sound performance Radio Mycelium by Martin Howse and Mycelium Network Society. Radio Mycelium uses electromagnetic waves to interconnect people, fungi and their environments into a meshwork. Based on the idea of open membrane boundaries and porous bodies (Tim Ingold), consequences for artistic strategies such as correspondence with the material are thematized and demonstrated on Radio Mycelium. The interaction with the environment demonstrates the principle of biocommunication on an artistic-performative level. Intervening in foreign systems through DIY hacking, capturing signals and reacting to them reveal a vibrant environment.
