- Authors
Hull, E. W. Seabrook
- Abstract
The article presents information on research vessels including Deep Research Vehicles (DR/V) and Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA). It is stated that the presence of SCUBA diver and DR/V do not disturb underwater fauna. Naturalist-biologist William Beebe used the SCUBA diving equipment bathysphere, a spherical pressure chamber with fused crystal viewing for his underwater explorations. It is informed that the DR/Vs Deep Diver has a diver lock-out capability to 1250 ft and Shelf Diver has a depth and lock-out capacity of 800 ft.
