- Abstract
The article presents the author's opinions on the need to explore the uses of ocean biology by the U.S. According to the author, available science and technology tools should be used to explore the seas to increase harvest of their food and mineral resources and to improve weather and ocean forecasting services. He appreciates the U.S. Marine Resources and Engineering Development Act of 1966 by saying that its programs will help development of the coastal zone to promote economic growth.
