- Abstract
An essay is presented on the current and future situation of French education in the U.S. The author indicates a decreasing French enrollments, a dismal job prospect for doctorate graduates in French and a disappearing funds for the French faculty. The lack of Francophone Americans to match the visibility of Hispanic Americans is cited. It is noted that the integration of Francophone traditions is important in understanding why these traditions last.
