- Abstract
Objective: To investigate the emotions and feelings of university nurse-professors in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Descriptive, qualitative study, carried out in a Higher Education Institution in Fortaleza-Ceará-Brazil. 21 professors of the undergraduate nursing course participated. A questionnaire was applied via Google Forms®, with identification variables and questions related to the emotions / feelings experienced by the teachers. For textual analysis of the speeches, the software Interface de R pour les Analyses Muítidimensionneííes de Textes et de Questionnaires was used. Results: Fear was the central emotion, surrounded by contradictory feelings such as: anxiety and tranquility. Linked to fear, feelings such as worry, mediated by tiredness, stood out. In the opposite direction to fear and worry, the verb to stand out stands out, which is surrounded by emotions associated with happiness, hope, faith and belief in God. Conclusion: Attention to emotions and feelings is considered relevant, which can often interfere with the quality of life, mental and occupational health of the teacher-nurse.
