- Abstract
This document discusses the case of a 46-year-old woman with a pigmented eccrine poroma, a rare benign tumor originating from eccrine sweat ducts. The nodule on her scalp had been present for 5 years and was pigmented, measuring 3 × 4 cm. The document highlights the importance of accurate diagnosis to reassure patients and plan appropriate interventions. It also mentions the presence of melanin granules and melanocytes in poromas, which is atypical for these tumors. The occurrence of pigmentation in poromas is relatively uncommon, accounting for 17% of cases, and further research is needed to understand the mechanism of melanocyte colonization in poromas.
