- Authors
Rooney, Rebecca C.; Rodriguez‐Gil, Jose Luis
- Abstract
The article examines the challenges of assessing the combined impacts of multiple contaminants on freshwater ecosystems and emphasizes the importance of realistic risk assessments. It critiques a study that attributes the effects of a commercial herbicide solely to one ingredient, disregarding the potential toxicity of adjuvants. The article highlights the controversial nature of glyphosate research and the lack of transparency in reporting its composition. It calls for more rigorous study design and transparent reporting to improve our understanding of the ecological effects of commonly used chemicals.
