The article presents a study on the link between drought and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) on the occurrence of fire at the Pacific Northwest. Explored are land use changes since the 20th century as well as fire and vegetation dynamics. Mentioned is the use of cross-spectral analysis in determining the percentage of trees scarred by fire and PDO for 47 years.
