- Abstract
The article presents an analysis which examines the success of grassland restoration strategies at two sites in the northern Great Plains. It explores the major obstacles faced with grassland restoration, such as competition from introduced species and contingency of native grass established on unpredictable precipitation. It shows that competition from wheatgrass (Agropyron cristatum) was lessened through annual application of a generalist herbicide (glyphosate).
