- Title
A STOCHASTIC BIOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF SILVER EEL FISHERIES.
- Authors
De Leo, Giulio Alessandro; Gatto, Marino
- Abstract
The article presents a study on the possibility of the economic return of European eel Anguilla anguilla which is analyzed using a sensitivity analysis, simulation method and a Monte Carlo approach. Restocking elvers, young eels, in low-density populations are predicted to cause a substantial improvement to the traditional harvesting policy. The increase of price gap between yellow and silver eels has also predicted to make yellow eel fishing unprofitable.
