- Abstract
The article discusses a retrospective serologic investigation which was conducted to find out the level of exposure to rickettsiae among U.S. military personnel deployed to South Korea during 1990-95. It describes the screening of predeployment and postdeployment serum samples for evidence of infection with typhus group rickettsiae (TGR), spotted fever group rickettsiae (SFGR), and scrub typhus group orientiae (STGO). It also notes evidence of rickettsiosis or scrub typhus among the personnel.
