- Abstract
The book review discusses the work "Travaux du/Arbeiten aus dem Master of Advanced Studies in Archival, Library and Information Science, 2018-2020". It contains 16 final theses from the 7th cohort of the Master's program in archival, library, and information science. The work also includes three introductory contributions, including a keynote speech on archival education and an article on libraries during the COVID-19 pandemic. An extensive essay addresses access to information in digital archives. Other topics covered include crowdsourcing and citizen science, as well as collaboration through annotation and curation. The work offers a variety of aspects and invites further reading. The article discusses various aspects of archival law and emphasizes the importance of this legal field for the transparency and accessibility of records of public institutions. It addresses questions of authenticity of historical maps, the appreciation of printed books in the academic world, and the definition of data in the legal field. The authors provide recommendations for the design of a data law and emphasize the relevance of these topics for archives. The publication also includes a directory of the final theses from the seventh cohort from 2018 to 2020.
